BookTok can rejoice as A court of thorns and roses TV series still in the works, Us Weekly Confirms.

Reports circulated on Monday, February 12, that Hulu had canceled the series, but a source said we that ACOTAR The adaptation is still under development for the streamer.

Rumors about the show being dropped began circulating after TVLine reported that the show was no longer moving forward. The outlet claimed that Hulu dropped the series and it was not marketed to other networks.

A few days before the speculation began, Craig Erwichwho is the president of Disney Television Group, gave a vague update on the upcoming fantasy series, based on Sarah J. Maas“Best-selling book series.

“This show has been in development, but I don’t have any news to share today,” Erwich said on Saturday, February 10, during a panel at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

A court of thorns and roses It hit the shelves in 2015 and several sequels followed. The story follows the story of Feyre Archeron as she and her sisters Elaine and Nesta are thrown into the magical world of Faerie. Feyre meets several of the kingdom’s powerful leaders including Tamlin, High Lord of the Spring Court, and Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court.

Hulu announced in 2021 that it was turning the book into a show. Mas previously revealed that she would be working alongside the model ron d. Moorewhich also developed A stranger from hometo bring the world of ACOTAR to life.

So, it’s official (and thank you, Josh, for accidentally spilling the beans!): Ron Moore (creator of Outlander and one of my creative role models) and I will be collaborating on an adaptation ACOTAR As a TV show for Hulu! Maas wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “I’m currently working hard on writing the pilot with Ron (!!!!!), and while there’s a lot of news to share with you guys about reviving this series, it’s so great that we can finally get around to talking about this! While the show was in development, Maas was writing more series. In addition to ACOTAR, the author has also written Glass throne And Crescent City series. Maas dropped the third installment on Crescent City books, House of flame and shadow, in January. Maas noted that her next book will be the sixth installment in the series ACOTAR Book series.

“I’m very excited about this,” Maas said during a January appearance on the Today show. “I know a lot about what’s going on in this. Then the next book in that series, I have vague general ideas and thoughts. But the nitty-gritty of the writing and the emotional journeys with the characters — I usually love going on those journeys with them.”
