Nick Jonas And Priyanka Chopra JonasHer daughter, Malti Marie, is the image of her mother — and the rock star wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It’s very encouraging to be around people like this [who don’t take themselves too seriously]”I don’t talk about self-deprecating stuff,” Jonas, 31, said during the Friday, Nov. 17, episode of the Read the Room podcast. [but] Like if you walk in the door, it’s funny. It’s not like, “Haha, you’re an idiot.” It’s like: “We love you and we’ve all seen it.” I think it’s a really beautiful quality for people to have. And obviously my wife embodies that on a grand scale.
Jonas – who married the 41-year-old actress in December 2018 – also noted that he admires how Chopra Jonas “doesn’t take herself too seriously,” something that has already been conveyed to his 10-month-old Maltese.
“We’re seeing that manifest now in our daughter in such a wonderful way,” Jonas marveled. “Her sense of humor and ability to laugh in situations, even her mischievous behavior, is amazing.”
Podcast host Kavanaugh Jameswho has been friends with Jonas since they grew up in Texas, said Maltese “always laughs” whenever he visits the Jonas family.

“You quickly realize once you have a baby that you can’t control everything,” Jonas added on Friday. “I think that was the biggest lesson for me at a point in my life that I never expected to learn. … You know, we went through a very difficult couple of months at the beginning of her life and you have that vision [of] How things have been going your whole life, and then it’s completely different. Then, every day from there is completely different and presents its own set of challenges.
Since Malti was released from the hospital, Jonas and Chopra Jonas have loved taking care of their little girl. Malti even accompanied her parents on her father’s Jonas Brothers tour, which kicked off in New York City in August.
“I think so [new wrist injury] It comes from our daughter’s necklace. I kind of do this thing where I’m her seat and she just points to where she wants to go. “She likes to look forward when she’s being held and she doesn’t like to be hugged. It’s like I’m your ride. Now that she’s older, thank God, yesterday when I felt this pain in my wrist, I was trying to figure out where it was coming from. ‘Oh, it’s the kid’s fault.’ “
