Jenna Bush Hager And Hoda Kotb They bond over their children’s confusing use of the word “bro.”

During the Wednesday, December 13 episode of Today with Hoda and Jennathe hosts discussed a viral video on TikTok, in which a middle school math teacher spoke in slang terms he learned from his students.

“How about this one? You know which one.” [word] My kids use a lot and they are six and four? “Bruh,” Kotb, 59, said of her daughters, Halle and Hope, respectively, who she shares with her ex-fiancé. Joel Schiffman.

For her part, Kotb explained that she cannot tolerate her daughters using this term to address her.

She joked: “I always tell my children: Don’t call your mother, brother,” which sparked laughter from the audience.

However, Bush Hager has not had the same success in getting her foot in the door. She told Kotb that her children are also fond of calling her by her full name.

“Wait, they call you Jenna Bush at your house?” the mogul asked in disbelief, prompting Bush-Hager to shout: “All the time!”

She continued: “All of them, all three of them, gathered against me and I said: Do you want to try my mother?” They say, “You call me Mila, I call you Jenna.”

A shocked Qutb replied: “You are losing the battle. No, you have lost the battle.”

Bush Hager agreed, admitting: “He’s gone.”

The duo also discussed Mila’s use of the word “preppy” — which Bush Hager explained kids are now using as a synonym for “cool” rather than to describe style — and another slightly off-color phrase they’ve heard kids use.

Kotb shared that she heard her daughters say, “What?!” Without filling in an implied expletive. She was confused about where she picked it up until she heard it out in the open.

“I was walking home from school with my kids, and a kid came on a motorcycle and hit me on the side, and he looked at me and said, ‘What is that?’” Kotb recalls. “He was my kids’ age, so is that what they’re saying?”

Bush Hager confirmed Qutb’s theory, saying, “I think they’re saying ‘what?’ on the playing field.”
