TikTok has undoubtedly made its presence known in the music industry. The partnership with Ticketmaster and TikTok, launched in the US in August 2022, was an important step along this path. The collaboration allowed TikTok users to buy concert tickets directly through the app.
A year later, the feature has expanded, rolling out to 20 new markets from December 2023. Now hopeful concertgoers using TikTok in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Sweden and more , you can also buy tickets directly from the accounts of selected artists.
TikTok is organizing its first music festival
TikTok said the feature has been successfully used by “both established and emerging artists, comedians and sports teams”, including Niall Horan, The Kooks, Burna Boy and Shania Twain. The likes of Demi Lovato, One Republic, Usher, Backstreet Boys and WWE have already signed on to use the feature.
Of course, Ticketmaster has caused fans pain in the past: Incredibly long lines for sold-out tickets, a rampant resale system, and a monopoly on the live music industry have tarnished the company’s reputation over the past few years — especially for Taylor Swift fans.
But its prevalence in the industry continues; the global expansion of TikTok x Ticketmaster is a clear example.
For those of you who want to give it a shot – and need to secure your seats for that next coveted show – here’s how to buy a ticket right after FYP.
