Swift and Kelce first sparked romance speculation in September 2023 when the pop star showed up at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on the Chiefs during their matchup against the Chicago Bears. He later revealed that he knows the singer from his days as coach of the Philadelphia Eagles — the Swift family’s longtime favorite football team. Reed revealed that he and Swift met before she sparked a romance with Travis.
“You know, I’ve met her before,” he said during a post-match press conference in September 2023, joking that he had “set them up” before walking away from the podium.
It’s nice to have a friend
Reid revealed in October 2023 that he has known Swift since his coaching days for the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I knew her from Philadelphia. Her dad was a big NFL fan,” Reed shared during an interview Donovan Macnab “The Five Spot” podcast on OutKick. “So I met her when she was very young, and with her father.”
While Reid explained that he had previously joked about Kelsey and the Grammy winner “establishing a relationship,” he noted that she is a “good girl” who is “involved” in the sport. “We are happy to have her here,” he said.

“She can stay as long as she wants,” Reed said of Swift in footage shared on social media after the Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in October 2023, adding that Travis is “getting better over time.”
