Exclusive: Arizona Republican Senate candidate Carrie Lake got another big boost on Wednesday with significant support from GOP leadership, a sign that the party increasingly views her as a standard-bearer in its bid to flip what is expected to be one of its most hotly contested seats. On it in 2024.

“Carey Lake is a proven conservative fighter who will secure the border, lower the cost of living, protect our values, and save America,” House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik told Fox News Digital.

“Control of the Senate and the fate of our republic will be decided in Arizona. I am proud to fully endorse Carrie Lake for the Arizona Senate, making her E-PAC’s first Senate endorsement for the 2024 cycle,” she added.

Lake told Fox she was “humbled by the endorsement” and praised Stefanik as a “conservative warrior and leader for the American people.”

“Elise has stood in the breach against the radical left, including exposing President Trump’s impeachment and ending Andrew Cuomo’s corrupt career. I look forward to working with her in Congress to get our country back on track,” she said.

Stefanik’s endorsement comes on the heels of a number of other prominent Republicans who have backed Lake, including former President Donald Trump, Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., Rep. Jim Banks, R-Indiana, and Rep. Burgess Owens, R-Utah, the plaintiff. Texas General Ken Paxton and a number of state and local elected officials in Arizona.

Through Elevate PAC, or “E-PAC,” Stefanik is leading a national effort to elect more conservative women to Congress, an effort that has raised and donated millions of dollars to female candidates since the group was founded in 2018.

During the 2020 election cycle, E-PAC’s first cycle was in operation, with 228 Republican women running for the House, 94 of whom won their primaries. That year, women supporting E-PAC won 11 of the 15 counties the GOP flipped.

With these victories, the number of Republican women in Congress doubled to an all-time high in US history, a feat she later added to during the 2022 midterm elections when she recruited a record number of Hispanic Republican women to run.

Lake’s only major rival in the race for the Republican nomination so far is Pinal County Mayor Mark Lamb.

Recent polls have shown Trump ahead of President Biden in a hypothetical 2024 matchup in Arizona, which, if it occurs, would likely boost the Republican Senate nominee into a matchup with Phoenix-area Rep. Ruben Gallego, the likely Democratic nominee.

Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who currently holds the seat, has not yet said whether she will run for re-election.
