Eilish admitted that she was inspired by Rodrigo, 20, for a song on her 2021 album, Happier than ever.
“I have a song called ‘Goldwing’ from my last album that’s kind of about her,” Eilish shared. “I never said that to anyone. It’s not just about her. I was just thinking about her when I was writing it. She was coming, she was younger than me, and no one was ever younger than me.”
In “Goldwing,” Eilish included lines from a hymn she sang as a child in a children’s choir in Los Angeles: “They’ll tell you what you want to hear / Then they’ll disappear / They’ll claim you as a souvenir / Just so I can sell you out in a year.”
“Olivia was growing up, and she was such a sweet little girl,” Eilish said. “I felt very nervous. I was worried about her. She’s coming out in the acting world, and people are so weird. I don’t know, I felt very protective of her. And I feel that way for everyone.”

Eilish went on to point out that she feels the same way Ariana GreenblattWho played Sasha’s daughter America FerreraPersonality, in Barbie. “She’s 16, and I literally want to cry for her sometimes,” Eilish admitted.
“I just see myself in all these little girls,” she continued. “And it’s the girls, man. The boys can handle themselves. They’re men – they don’t have to handle it like we do. I just want to put everyone in a little glass box and never let anything touch them.”
Rodrigo also seems to feel a kinship with Eilish Watchman in September that Eilish was “really nice and supportive.” Rodrigo also admitted in 2021 that Eilish is her beauty inspiration.
